Ryan Johnson

Next Gen Minister

My wife, Alison, and our three daughters, Alana (15), Arie (12), and Addie (8), have lived in Brown County since 2020. However, this isn’t our first stay in Nashville. We both graduated from BC and consider this home. We love homeschooling our girls and learning how to continue raising them in Christ. For me, I spent one year as a Youth for Christ Director in Columbus, IN before stepping into the Next Gen Pastoral role. Before that, I spent ten years in retail working at a Walmart Distribution Center.

What energizes you in ministry?
Our story as a family was growth in Christ through discipleship. Deeply loved and poured into by so many. Now, our vision is to teach and disciple others of the hope of Christ Jesus. We want to see generation after generation be transformed through disciples making disciples.

How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy sports and the outdoors. Going on a hike or a mountain bike ride is my jam. So is coaching at the local schools and anything baseball. I love collecting baseball cards! I enjoy cooking with Alison and doing devotions with the family.

Is there a Scripture that is personally significant to you?
“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the earth.” (Matthew 28: 18-20)

If you could travel anywhere in the world for a week, where would you go?
Alaska or Montana. The more remote the better. The highest adventure on my bucket list is to complete the Cape Wrath Trail in Scotland.
