Jesus and David

What was it about David that set him apart as a man after God's own heart? He didn't display the best leadership qualities. He wasn't a charismatic people person. He wasn't morally perfect. When you read through David’s life and you read through the Psalms that David wrote, the common narrative is that David trusted in God and turned to God. When threatened by Saul, he didn't throw spears back. When confronted by Nathan, he repented with a broken heart. God received him (Psalm 51:16-17).
